Volunteering to support the Pohick Estates Civic Association is a great way for adults and students to build their community involvement skills. Area Information
The Volunteer Recruiter highlights volunteer opportunities and time requirements to support PECA community goals. Maintains a list of prospective and current volunteers. Works with other volunteers to confirm volunteer availability. The estimated investment in your community is 3 hours per month.
Volunteers report road, sidewalk, snow plowing recommendations and concerns to VDOT for action. Steve, thanks for volunteering!
Volunteers provide information to everyone in our neighborhood on common Fairfax County Zoning issues (junk cars, blighted properties, mosquito/tick concerns, etc.). And how to report them.
Volunteer(s) attend monthly Police Department Citizen Advisor Committee Meetings and provides valuable information to PECA for distribution. The information is posted on the PECA website and Quarterly Newsletter. Estimated investment in your community is 3 hours per month.
Volunteers attend meetings and voice Pohick Estates interests on county projects, zoning, infrastructure, and other opportunities. For example, Mount Vernon Supervisor meetings and the South County Federation. Andy Normand, thank you for attending these meetings. More volunteers are needed!
Volunteers gather and distribute information relating to utility company services, fire department services, and other helpful information.
Volunteers coordinate social and formal events so that neighbors have the opportunity to get to know one another. Usually at least one neighborhood picnic per year and quarterly PECA business meetings. Thanks to all of the volunteers that made this years Community Picnic possible.
